Fresh, local, quality produce and other agricultural products in your community

August 21 ~ This Week

This Week at the Market

With preseason football underway, you may be looking for snacks to have on hand. Stop by Chippy’s for kettle corn, Farmer John’s for cheese curds, and the Salsa Man’s for a variety of homemade salsas and chips. Put together a tray of fresh fruit with a variety of apples from Green’s Pleasant Springs Orchard and melons from Nehmer’s Produce. Besides selling great products, these vendors often have excellent ideas for preparing and serving their food.

marketThe Cajun Spice Band, a guitar, fiddle and accordion trio, will entertain at Sunday’s market.  They play traditional Cajun music from Southwest Louisiana.

As the summer gardening season winds down and fall approaches, you may have questions about how to treat your yard and garden. The Master Gardeners can answer questions like knowing when to seed or sod new lawns, repair damaged areas of your yard, sow seeds for late crops of greens, divide bulbs and bringing plants indoors. Stop by for expert advice. The Master Gardeners are at the market on the first and third Sundays every month through September.
