This Week at the Market
The Cajun Spice Band, a guitar, fiddle, and accordion trio, is this week’s entertainment at the Monona Farmers’ Market. Their traditional Cajun music of Southwest Louisiana goes nicely with a cup of fresh brewed Columbian coffee from Café Social and a pastry from Stella’s Bakery or a sandwich from Stalzy’s Deli.
It’s a good time to plan your Fathers’ Day menu. Honor dad with a special grilled menu. Weber Pastures suggests grilling pork chops. Compliment with roasted baby potatoes, a tossed green salad, artisan bread and strawberry shortcake for dessert. You’ll find everything you need at the market, fresh and locally produced.
With the hard work of getting yards and gardens planted and in shape for the summer, the Master Gardeners offer some advice, “Get outside and simply enjoy!
Mayor Bob Miller will be at his picnic table office from 10:00 to noon. He welcomes visitors. You can also tune in to his live broadcast on Monona’s local radio station, WVMO – 98.7, from 11:00 am to noon.
The Monona Farmers’ Market is located at Ahuska Park, 400 E. Broadway. It’s open from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm every Sunday through October 30.
