May 1 ~ Opening Market
Rain or shine – The Monona Farmers’ Market opened Sunday!
We enjoyed sweet rolls from Stella’s Bakery and tapped our feet to the sounds of the Rodeo Bum.
The Market was full of early season produce, mushrooms, flowers and plants, eggs, meat, seafood, cheese, honey, preserves, baked goods and other specialty items.
The market opened with 26 local vendors. Returning vendors are joined by three newcomers: Land of Oos from Cottage Grove with handmade preserves, Vitruvian Farms from McFarland with fresh, certified organic produce, and Midwest Morels selling morel mushrooms.
The master gardeners volunteers were there to answer questions and share early season gardening and yard tips. They will be at the market on the first and third Sundays from the opening through September.
