This Week at The Marketpiano

Besides a bountiful selection of summer fruits, vegetables and flowers this week’s market offers much more!

Live entertainment is the Madison Music Foundry Student Showcase. This is an opportunity for students taking lessons at the Foundry to perform jazz. Market shoppers will be the lucky audience!

Bring your library card! The Monona Public Library will have a booth where you can check out books and pick up flyers featuring upcoming events and library programs. If you don’t have a library card you can fill out an application. Librarian Karlyn Spevacek will share some stories and songs. There’s something for everyone!

Joining the market vendors are UW-Platteville students selling Sunflower Oil. Students in the Sustainable and Renewable Energy Systems Program (SRES) along with local businesses collaborated to grow, harvest and press sunflower oil in Platteville. You can purchase this healthy alternative to olive oil and learn about UW-Platteville’s cutting edge SRES Program.

The Master Gardener volunteers will be available to answer your gardening questions and tell you what it takes to have butterflies and what we need to make butterflies.
