This Week ~ October 4
Pumpkins and spice and all that’s nice… That’s what you’ll find at the fall Monona Farmers’ Market. There’s everything from apples to zucchini including beautiful autumn plants and flowers.
Be sure to check out new vendor, Marquardt’s Tree Farm. Take home some of their pure Wisconsin Maple Syrup. It’s ideal for gift giving and a flavorful ingredient in many recipes.
Maple Syrup Glaze for Fish and Meat
- ¼ cup maple syrup
- 2-3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Whisk ingredients together. Cover meat or fish with glaze, reserving some for serving. Refrigerated for 1-6 hours. Bake, fry or barbeque as usual. Brush remaining glaze on before serving.
This week’s live entertainment is The Melon Heads, three talented singer/songwriters who combine vocals with guitar, bass and banjo to create music that will make you dance, make you think, and most importantly, make you smile.
The Monona Farmers’ Market is honored to be a candidate for the 2016 Best of Madison Awards. Your support for the market is appreciated. Cast your vote online at bestofmadison.com.
